Shell Grease

These are multipurpose lithium soap base greases of NLGI No 1 & NLGI No.2 consistencies having good extreme pressure, anti-oxidant and anti-rust properties. The greases enjoy excellent storage and service stability.

Application

The EPL series of greases is ideal for all plain and anti-friction bearings of industrial equipment used in steel plants, heavy engineering units, machine tool units, textile mills, paper mills, fertilizer plants, tea garden machinery, sugar mills, etc., particularly where contacting surfaces are exposed to very heavy pressure and shock loads. With the use of Castrol Ball Bearing EPL2 Greases, the service life of lubricated parts (even when subjected to heavy shock loads) gets increased appreciably as the EP additives provide a high degree of film stability to combat shock load fatigue stresses. These greases can easily be pumped through hand or power operated dispensing systems over a wide temperature range. Castrol Ball Bearing EPL 1 Grease is particularly suitable for centralised systems.

Shell Gadus S5 V100 is a lithium complex grease based on synthetic base oils, containing antioxidants, EP-, wear- and rust preventing additives The product contains a special friction modifier which is suitable for high speed bearings, taper roller bearings and cylindrical bearings, type NJ, NUP plus applications with an angle ring.

Shell Gadus S2 V220 greases are high quality multipurpose, extreme-pressure greases based on a blend of high viscosity index mineral oils and a lithium hydroxystearate soap thickener and contain extreme-pressure and other proven additives to enhance their performance in a wide range of applications.
Shell Gadus S2 V220 greases are designed for multipurpose grease lubrication of rolling element and plain bearings as well as hinges and sliding surfaces such as those found in throughout most industrial and transport sectors.

Features:

• When using high-pressure equipment, injection of a product under the skin can occur. If high-pressure injuries occur, the casualty should be sent immediately to a hospital. Do not wait for symptoms to develop.
• Obtain medical attention even in the absence of apparent wounds.
• Flush eye with copious quantities of water. If persistent irritation occurs, obtain medical attention.
• In general, no treatment is necessary unless large quantities are swallowed, however, get medical advice.
• Oil acne/folliculitis signs and symptoms may include the formation of black pustules and spots on the skin of exposed areas.
• Ingestion may result in nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhoea.
• Local necrosis is evidenced by delayed onset of pain and tissue damage a few hours following injection. When administering first aid, ensure that you are wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment according to the incident, injury, and surroundings.
• High-pressure injection injuries require prompt surgical intervention and possibly steroid therapy, to minimize tissue damage and loss of function. Because entry wounds are small and do not reflect the seriousness of the underlying damage, surgical exploration to determine the extent of involvement may be necessary. Local anesthetics or hot soaks should be avoided because they can contribute to swelling, vasospasm, and ischaemia. Prompt surgical decompression, debridement, and evacuation of foreign material should be performed under general anesthetics, and wide exploration is essential.
